Time magazine asks Trump Organisation to remove fake covers from golf clubs and hotels

One of the covers hung at Trump International Hotel in Doonbeg in Clare.

TIME MAGAZINE HAS asked the Trump Organisation to remove at least five fake magazine covers which feature the US president from a number of his golf clubs across the US and Europe.

The fake cover, which is dated 1 March 2009, shows Trump, arms folded, with the headline reading: “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS. . . EVEN TV!”

The subdeck of the headline reads: “The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!”

The only problem with the cover is that it was never printed by the magazine.

The Washington Post got confirmation that the cover is, in fact, not real and a spokeswoman for the organisation told the paper that they had contacted the Trump Organisation and asked them to remove the covers from their locations.

“I can confirm that this is not a real Time cover,” Kerri Chyka, a spokeswoman for Time wrote to the Post.

Trump has history with Time magazine.

Whilst on the campaign trial in 2016, Trump had claimed that he had graced its cover more times than anyone else. This was untrue.

At the time he said: “I think we have the all-time record in the history of Time magazine. I think I was on the cover of Time magazine twice in my life and like six times in the last number of months. So you tell me, which is more important, real estate or politics, okay?”

Richard Nixon appeared on the front of Time on 55 occasions.
